- • The $14.00 base first-page fee already incorporates the real estate fraud prosecution surcharge.

- • County documentary transfer tax is $0.55 per $500 of consideration; Richmond and El Cerrito add their own city transfer taxes.

Leave the top 2½ inches of the first page clear — 5 inches from the left edge is reserved for the recorder's stamp.

Include the document title, return-to name and address, and the APN where applicable.

Notary acknowledgment must use current California statutory wording, including the required disclosure box.

A Preliminary Change of Ownership Report (PCOR) is required on transfers, or a $20 fee applies in lieu.
